For Deutsche Telekom, the 2009 financial year was marked by the merger of fixed-network and mobile communications in its standard business in Germany, the effects of the economic crisis, and the continued difficult competitive and regulatory environment. Despite the considerably worsened overall economic environment, the Group continued to stabilize its business in Germany and recorded further successes in its broadband business. The Group grew further with the consolidation of the OTE group and expanded its international business.
